How To Prepare Your Lips For Lipstick

How to Prepare your Lips for Lipstick

Hey girls, Im going to explain the very basic routine of how I prepare my lips to keep them smooth, moisturized and perfect for lipstick applying!

What you need:

moisturizer/balm,
 lip plump,
 lip sugar scrub
 lipstick/gloss

  1. 1. Exfoliate

This can be done through either a lip sugar scrub (I used Santa's Lip Scrub by Lush Cosmetics) OR you can wet a toothbrush and lightly brush across skin.

    2.  Moisturize

This step is to keep your lips from drying out and feeling sticky. I used a local Tasmanian Lavender lip balm. I highly recommend Lucas' Papaw Ointment.

    3. Plump

You may miss this step if you dont have a lip plump but I like using my Napoleon Perdis Love Bite lip plump as the capsicum pepper, cinnamon & menthol stimulate and swell my lips making them fuller and more appealing.

    4. Apply Colour!

Lastly apply your desired lipstick/gloss with a lip brush.... or just straight from the tube is cool too :)
Here im using Lush's 'It Started With A Kiss' lip tint. The sweet appley smell is divine.

It can help to use a tissue or cotton pad to rid of excess gloss to obtain a more matte finish.

My lips are crack free, moisturized and plump with a long lasting colour!
Perfect for a night out or movie date :)

May Lipstick Haul!! L'oreal, Revlon, MineralGlow

Okay I can assure you this will be the last post on lipstick.. for a while anyway!
You see all this new blogging has gotten me going out of my way and buying the whole shop. Cant complain though... Im loving these gorgeous new colours. Also yes, these colours are all very light and pink; next time I promise to do more darker shades, not sure how they're going to suit me but whatever!

So, Im just going to sum these other 2 lippies up quick.

                                         Revlon Matte Smoked Peach 013:

Cheaper than the L'oreal collection and just as good.I absolutely love this colour which goes great with blue- my favourite colour to wear!

And lastly I have the gorgeous 'Glow Mineral' Demure lip crayon. Glow Minerals was founded in Tasmania (my home state), made especially for the shop 'Glow Cosmetics'. This mineral rich colour stick can be found in any Glow shop or ordered online. $15.00AUD

L'oreal Color Riche Sakura Petal

I couldnt help myself but to purchase another of L'oreals lipsticks. This one: Sakura Petal, is one gorgeous matte colour.

The Sakura P501 is a shade like no other. She's rich and vibrant, daring to stand out from the crowd. I think this one is an essential for all blondes or even brunettes with fair skin. Also I honestly prefer this from the Rose Tendre 303 which is a much more sheer tone.
I am also amazed with the staying power! 5/5 many thanks L'oreal, I will be using this product again :D

Here is a double shade swatch:

Oh, heres me writing this blog. I publish the whole document on my desktop but in this harsh winter I find blogging much more enjoyable in a warm comfty bed with mounts of doonas, hot waterbottles and... fuzzy creatures with my Samsung Galaxy tab. Hehe xx

L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick Rose Tendre

I've truly been blessed to have found such a perfect lipstick!

I'm reviewing the L'oreal Color Riche Lipstick: Rose Tendre Natural 303 and I must say, I am profoundly confident to say that this particular collection has been my favourite.

As said on the tube; this shade is 'Natural'. There is also a number of shades in 'Matte' which I will be reviewing in future.

The tube is simple and deep reflective gold which is found fancy but not borderline crazy. I do love how the L'oreals color riche state which shades go better with certain haircolours and this is greatly accurate. I have Ombre hair. Two thirds of my hair is pearl blond and the top is a dark honey blonde. This suited me precisely!

Below is a single shade swatch of L'oreal Color Riche Natural Rose Tendre

L'oreals 303 is certainly a natural light shade. Shimmery and pink!- Can't go wrong with a light pink.
It goes on very smoothly in a light radiance and doesnt feel sticky or greasy. If there would be one complaint to this colour, because of the fact it is a 'Natural' colour, I find I must apply this more regularly to keep the colour staying fresh and bright.
The colour is what I imagine someone like Cleopatra would wear. Its shimmers without being vibrant, it stays pearly and light pink. Tendre Rose is a perfect colour for those who like to be elegant, fancy without being overpowering and taking attention off your eyemakeup for example.

I imagine a more deeper shade would stay onto your lips for a greater amount of time.

This product was 21.95 and should be found in your local drugstore :}
